Whitetara

One of 21 Taras, a female Bodhisattva in Buddhism who is the mother of liberation, and represents the virtues of success in work and achievements. She is believed to prevent illness and helps bring long, healthy life. Often referred as the Mother of all the Buddhas and symbolizes the motherly aspect of compassion. Her white colour indicates purity and also indicates that she is Truth, complete and undifferentiated.Elaborate lotus flower, held in the left hand is called Utpala. It contains three blooms which signifies that White Tara is the essence of all the three Buddhas of the past, the present and the future.She embodies the motivation that is compassion and is said to be as white and radiant as the moon.
