When the yearnings travel to the sky
It becomes the thundering clouds
As Koel invokes the rain gods
Cooing her heart out
from the Champa trees
Blessings from the heaven
Comes down in sparkling droplets
The first showers bring
the contented smell of the wet earth,
Sprouting forth hope
And the reason to walk ahead!
